bluboho x st.kitts: a message from our founder

when i was twelve, i set off alone on the train across the country to visit my grandparents. before i left, my mom tucked a tiny st. christopher charm into my hand.

it wasn’t just jewelry — it was love i could hold, a promise of protection, a compass for the unknown.

at sixteen, when i traveled again, she did the same. over and over, through all the seasons of my life, she has asked me: “do you have your st. christopher charm?” that charm became a talisman — intimate, visceral, a thread of safety and courage i could carry with me anywhere.

so when we were approached a few years ago about collaborating with st. kitts, i hesitated. i had never been there — how could i tell its story truthfully? but then i discovered its name was short for st. christopher - the patron saint of travel.

in that moment, it was as if the universe leaned in, whispering: pay attention.
i felt goosebumps. what had been woven quietly through my own life was also written into the very identity of this island.

when i visited last spring, i understood. st. kitts is a hidden gem - raw and refined, shaped by fire and sea. its mountains rise like guardians. its coastline holds both wildness and welcome. and its people — warm, proud, and deeply rooted — embody the very soul of the place. st. kitts is not the loudest island in the caribbean. it is quiet. humble. and that is its beauty.

and in so many ways, that is bluboho too. we are small by design. we treasure intimacy, we care for the earth, we place meaning above magnitude. our strength — like st. kitts — comes not from size, but from intention, warmth, and the stories we carry.

when we returned from that journey, we dreamed up many concepts. but when we presented to the st. kitts team, the choice was unanimous: a st. christopher charm. it was as though the story had already chosen itself.

because jewelry, at its core, is more than adornment. it is intimate, visceral, meaningful. it marks the moments of our lives. it is passed down, generation to generation, carrying love and memory like a secret language. this collaboration carries the same spirit: the protection of st. christopher, the magic of st. kitts, and the belief that what we hold close can guide us through all our journeys.

the collaboration feels like it’s more than jewelry - it is a circle completed, a bridge between a childhood talisman and an island sanctuary, between the journeys we take and the protection we carry.
